Everyone's Future

So here I am off again on yet another trip to Japan. I am currently en-route with quite a barrage of different folks, here on the plane. I have a Quebecoi francaone servince us (who seems reluctant to speak english), a younger family a few seats back with a 5-6 year old child (who enjoys repeating the same phrases over and over), a nice older lady sitting next to me and a mother/daughter duo (the mother of which was already berrating the daughter for not sitting up properly and keeping her modeling posture).

I'm on my way to Japan right now to pick up my gear and all-out life in Yokohama and move it all back to Saskatoon... for now. After experiencing life in Japan, Canada seems all too dull. With the lower cost of living also comes lower pay from companies. As to where I was content making $29 per hour, I'm now being bumped back down the food chain to $9.16. Still, that isn't that bad for the city of Saskatoon since minimum wage is something to the tune of $6.50, the lower pay-rate in all of Canada. Nice to know that the province of Saskatchewan is keeping up with the times, isn't it?

A few of the things I will be taking part in while venturing through Tokyo & Yokohama will be seeing some friends, tieing up any loose ends and visiting a few of the shopping distrcits one last time before heading back to the monotonous work of Saskatoon. But all is not lost, in fact, this last trip has given me some ideas for the fture as to what I will do with my upcoming life. Perhaps a move to Vancouver, perhaps back to Japan, maybe even to any number of other places. I don't really know.

Two people, over the past few days, have left some unsavory comments on my website, of which I'm sure were two boys by the name of Ryan Jones and possibly a tall skinny white boy named Sean. I do hope I'm incorrect, but after doing a track of the IP, they seem to turn up the same. It's interesting to see how they will hide behind a computer screen and slander me, yet upon calling one of the two, he was quick to shut right up. Those people, my dear readers, are what the rest of the world call cowards. Such to the likes of Osama Bin Laden's sympathizers of whome will hop on the band-wagon because it's going against "The Man". If people have problems with me, why not take it to my face? As mentioned, cowards.

I have decided to go to University and get a degree, sadly something that the majority of the people I spent my high-school days with never did. That's not saying that all of them are unsucessfull, just the majority. Thankfully, a good friend Leroy Kwan made his way 1200 kilometers West of Saskatoon to Vancouver and is now working as a sales-man for a granite company, as did his brother.

Mr. Dan Horning (although sinking two of his dads companies) still managed to do quite well as he now takes care of the majority of the Sub-Way restaurants in Saskatoon.

Blaine Cross ended up working at a Macs convinient store (kombini) for years after high-school before finally moving up and works as a gas-station attendant and is presently saving up to move out on his own, certainly a big step. His sister mean-while is pregnant and moving to Alberta with her fiance, another big step for the entire family.

Paul Dhaliwal, also working part-time at Macs kombini not only worked hard for his family (of whome owns one of the Macs stores) but also made it through the College of Engineering with room to spare!

Kevin Coleman never went to university, but he ended up there anyways. Out of high-school his parents made a big move nearly two hours out of the city and left him in Saskatoon under his own wishes. After a barrage of various jobs (from women's foot-wear to cheese sales), he seems to be quite content working at the University of Saskatchewan.

Adrian Allard moved to Winnipeg, where another friend leeched off him for a while, before saying 'to hell with it' and went to university in Vancouver, majorying and hoping to graduate later next year with a degree in Japanese. He is presently living and enjoying his one-year exchange program in Tokyo.

Chris Cennon, Paul Sherrard and Ben Voung never met me in any schooling, but became friends only a couple years ago. Chris is now heavily involved in theater (he in-fact did the music for my grade 7 production of Grease), Paul is one of the marketing managers of a large survey company, and Ben owns an impressivly large physio-therapy office in Saskatoon.

My life is certainly no failure, nor is it a sucess story as of yet, but that's why ambition and the urge to go out and actually DO something come into play, not just sit infront of my parent's TV playing X-Box and watching the W.W.F. (World Wrestling Federation) of which large (see: "Muscular") sweaty men gleefully grope and parade themselves infront of enourmous gatherings of equally large (see: "Rotund") men.

Plans in my future are to go to university (I've already graduated from one-year olf college), get a full degree, not just a diploma, and with some luck move back to Yokohama where the money is good, the women are gorgeous and there isn't an attitude problem (See: "City Of Saskatoon").

I'll fire out another update most likely when I'm on the train, take care everyone & best of luck to you all.

American Technology Is Stupid

I was watching on CNN today, the famous American news network, and there was a short little blurb called "CNN Tech Watch" where they report on little prices of new technology that is going to be available soon. Sometimes it's interesting, sometimes it's dull, sometimes it's just STUPID.

Today was the latter.

On Tech-Watch it was mentioned that the company "Motorola" is testing 300 test-phones (cell-phone / keitei) that have the NEW technology of incorporating an FM radio.... Yes, a RADIO. I guess having a radio in the United States is "New" technology. Well my friends, I have news for you... I have the Samsung V401SA and it has an FM radio built in. Y'know what? It's also been available since July of last year.

Stupid American's...

Poz & The Great Glass Elevator

Hi everyone!

I have been busy (kind-of) recently so I haven't been able to give an update. I've been humming and hawing over what to give for an update here ad trying to decide on what I should talk about! Well I have decided I'll let you all know exactly what's going on now.

Since my last update, I took another trip down to the city of Regina to visit some good friends, have a couple beer and play airsoft (survival game). This game was a good-sized game and the first international game played in Canada as we had one person from Japan and one person from Australia playing as well along with us!

This is me attempting to hold off 6 enemy players that were attacking one of our base's. Needless to say, I failed that task! In this photo, I am wearing tactical goggles, woodland camoflage and am carrying a Tokyo Marui G3-SG1 with metal RIS front-guard.

Recently my family had a very large BBQ and we hosted nearly 50 people from across the province and many friends and neighbors as well. It was quite a lot of fun, and it was for my Mother & Brother's birthday celebrations. I invited over some friends (Paul, Dale, Warren & Ben) and everyone had quite a good time.

Here is a picture from early-on in the BBQ. In this photo, you can see quite a few of our neighbors, we as well as me (Leather jacket & glasses).

A few days later, I met up with my good friend Zack, a mutual-friend of ours Mark & Zack's girlfriend Lindsay. We all went out for a couple drinks and then decided it would be a lot of fun if we go to the batting cages. They picked on me a little bit because I am a left-handed batter. I am partially ambidexterous... that means I can use my left and right hand to do things. I write with my right hand, but play sports with my left hand.

After that, we had another couple beers and went home! Since I moved to Japan, I have developed a slight taste for beer. Before I moved, I never enjoyed bee, but now it's so-so.

Although I'm not very good at baseball, I did a pretty good job at the batting cages!

Onto some bad news... I was fully expecting on going back to Japan mid-June or even possibly late-June. I found out recently from my employer in Japan that the STUPID Japanese Immigration official's out-right cancelled my visa.... so instead of going back, working, and waiting for a new one, I get to stay here in Canada and apply from here. That takes a LONG LONG LONG time, up to three months to do-so. Thankfully I have a college diploma and that will help me out quite a bit! The only thing I really worry about is my rent that I have to pay in Japan. Even though I'm not living in Japan at the moment, I still need to pay rent for my room since all of my belongings are sitting there! OH NO!

In the meantime I will try to find a job to work here in Canada and earn enough money to pay rent. If that fails, I will have to hit-up my parent's and see if they can help me with my bills.... that's what parents are for, right?

Something I missed about Canada were the skies. They are absolutly beautiful here in the province, not that the skies in Japan are not gorgeous as well, but there's just something about seeing the sky from your home-town. I guess it makes me a little nostalgic.

This is probably one of the photos I will be entering into a contest here in Saskatoon. In-case you readers don't know where I am from, I am from the city of Saskatoon in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Thankfully there are some good things to do to keep myself occupied in the city. I have started fishing, biking and walking. I noticed that I had packed on a few pounds so I decided that it's time to start a small diet. It's not so much a diet, as much as it is eating better and NOT eating as much junk-food!

Anyhow, with that, I will leave you all with a nice little photo of a buddy Rhett & I from the airsoft game. Take care everyone & keep watching here for updates! Oh, if anyone want's to see a quick shot of where I'm living, feel free to log onto my webcam at http://www.smilecam.com/aquamarine
